The first memory that I have is green. I don’t know how old I was, maybe 3 years old, but I remember peace. I was laying on my back in the light coming through the window, watching the leaves. I laid there for hours. I remember reaching my hand up and trying to catch the colors. ----------------------------------------------------- My next memory is that of complete chaos. I bumped into the door frame as I came out of my room. It was so loud, and the strobe light was making it hard to walk. “Mom?” I called out. I bumped into people dancing and saw someone on top of a girl on the couch. “Mommy” I yelled. I walked up to a person and pulled on their arm until they noticed me. “Heeeeeey, meeeelon,” they said slurred and slow, “What are you doing up?” “Where’s my mommy?” their eyes glazed over, and they started swaying again. I pulled on their arms again, “Where’s my mommy?” “Outside, I think” they wandered away towards the kitchen. I stumbled through the crowd in the room with my hands
